The tradition of hand woven silk goes back to the time of ancient Khmer kingdoms. The delicacy of its thread, its extraordinary power to accentuate colors, makes it one of the most precious of textiles. Cambodia has developed the full radiance of silk.
Greyish-beige silk, commonly known as raw silk, reveals the pure aspect of the natural fiber which is ideal for interior decoration. Silk from the district of Takeo is reputed for its heavy quality while silk from village of Prey Veng is noted for its luster.
